HORDES of music-lovers descended on Uttoxeter Racecourse for a weekend packed with acoustic artists.
Steve Harley from Cockney Rebel, Fairport Convention and Matt Cardle were just a few of the names who took to the stage at the Acoustic Festival of Britain at Uttoxeter Racecourse over the weekend.
Tents and camper vans filled the fields at the racecourse, as music fans spent the weekend enjoying the chance to see a wide range of solely acoustic music.
Sally White, of Cambridge, said: “We’ve come down to Uttoxeter for the last two years for the acoustic festival.
We love the relaxed atmosphere, family-friendly camping and the quality of acts.
Acoustic guitar music is by far my favourite and its an opportunity to hear old bands and discover fresh talent.“My favourite so far has been Fairport Convention but I’ve always been a huge fan.
Steve Harley was brilliant too.”
Rod Bailey, of Stoke-on-Trent, said: “I’m here with my daughter because she is a huge Matt Cardle fan.
We’re having a great time and the rain has held off so far which is always a bonus.”
Jason Martin, of Nottingham, said: “I am having an absolutely brilliant time, this is the first time I’ve been down to the Acoustic Festival but I’m really impressed. I really enjoyed the Counterfeit Stones set, it was a lot of fun. I’m a big fan of my folk music so it was a real treat to see the Fairport Convention too.”
